Real old school pub that has no right to still exist, prove me wrong and stop for a pint and some pork scratchings

I think its the best pub , probably in the world. ..we regularly drive the 18 miles from home ..its what a pub should be ..Good food. Good beer and good company ..banter is free..

We visited with my sister Julie after the pub had held a vitual wake for her husband Johnny. We recieved a very accommodating welcome and really enjoyed our time there with julies friends. A really welcoming atmosphere Made even better by Patrick and Sue.

A local village pub with a roaring fire which on a wet damp evening was welcome. A choice of 4 real ales and a good wine list Has a daily card and dominoes school and does an op special lunch on Thursdays. Sue is always accommodating and does good food.

Good food, nice people & dog friendly. Perfect place to stop after a walk around Ousden.

We've just had a lovely Sunday roast here. There was a choice of chicken or pork (or both if you wanted), 4 different vegetables, roast potatoes, stuffing ball, massive Yorkshire pudding & gravy. We were both stuffed so couldnt manage a pudding! We will definately be going back so will try one of those next time ;) The couple running it were both very friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. Nice traditional pub, good pint and lovely log burner.

Visiting the area for the weekend. Some places make you feel exluded when not local to the area or a new face but this place was lovely. Fellow patrons and owners were very friendly and we were warmly welcomed. Would definately visit again and again if in the area

Traveling from America most of the day, we were famished and tired! We tried a closerpub first, but we're turned away. Sue was so very welcoming. A lovely pub and the delicious hot food was just what we needed. You won't be disappointed!
