Our first meal out since March, whilst I understand that midweek(Thursday) is always going to be quiet, the atmosphere was very flat. The waiting staff were not attentive in any sense. After rightly being informed that it was table service only. We were left to it glasses empty etc. Although we had a smile at being greeted, that was it. The two young people appeared in interested in their customers needs. Your glass is empty , they didn't seem bothered the young man checking his phone etc, and glum faces all round! Any how I was looking forward to my steak. I asked if I could have a baked potato, after a perfunctory enquiry with the kitchen staff I received a blunt No. You can't have everything but it summed the atmosphere of disinterest coming from the front of house team. My wife is a veggy , but not unusually in this area the choice of vegetarian fare is limited! The food was ordinary, portions were small ( a tiny green leaf side salad )was 3 very small and very forgettable. Pretty much forgettable, not bad but just forgettable. On paying the bill no real enquiry as to how the meal or how our experience of the last was and we were allowed to leave without a word! It was our evening out we tried to make the best of it but the lack of interest, enthusiasm and nice atmosphere were non existent. A very disappointing and relatively expensive damp squib of an evening

Visited as a family for a late lunch on a Sunday. We were seated in the conservatory area, which was modern with chunky wooden tables. Although quiet, there was a nice atmosphere and staff were pleasant. We chose 2 large mixed meat roast dinners and 1 pork loin. All were tasty with a good selection of veg, although would have been better if the food had been hotter. Nice selection of desserts to finish.
