The review is based on the facilities only, if I could review staff it would for sure be 5 stars! They, along with the food make it incredible. The room with sea view was absolutely gorgeous. However, if you are someone with a bad back, the beds are pretty awful. I slept a couple of nights on the floor to try and ease my back a little. There is no breakfast, but there is lovely cafes nearby (recommend the Ocean cafe!) and there is extremely limited parking, we decided not to rent a car as we were told there was no parking and the parking costs extra. The restaurant is absolutely perfect, amazing outdoor space and view is beautiful over Great Western beach. The food was really tasty. A few areas in the hotel with damp smells but that is probably due to it being unused in quarantine. Thanks to the lovely staff (especially in the bar/restaurant) for making our stay so enjoyable. We will definitely be back but hope to have better beds next time (PLEASE!)

Really enjoyed the stay here! The staff were helpful and friendly. The room itself was small and standard, however it offered fantastic views of the ocean. I might question the covid standard of cleaning, as our TV remote had old dried crumbs all over it. I also noticed layers of dust around the room that indicated that they weren't wiping some surfaces between guests. The restaurant downstairs was ocean facing and cliff top, it made for great views to enjoy some fair priced pints in the afternoon. There was also easy access to the beach from the hotel. Overall a great experience and would happily stay here again.

Location was great for the beach and right on the high street which was a little run down however if you walked 5 minutes towards the harbour it is a lot nicer. The room itself was okay and had been recently renovated but the hotel was dated and you can hear every single sound from above also can hear a door downstairs bang everytime someone uses it . The shower wasn't great quite small as was the tv however the bed was really comfortable. We chose to check out two days earlier than we planned as it was a long trip and wanted to get back the staff was great no issues with this. Two nights was plenty for us any longer would recommend ear plugs and choose a room with a view

Lovely views of the beach. However, very poor customer service. We encountered moody and confrontational reception staff, consistently. Understand the impact of Covid, as I work directly with people myself. However, I feel strongly that your reception team are the eyes and ears of your Hotel and that a small amount of courtesy goes a long way. My review of this situation is accurate and genuine and I feel that perhaps some TLC is needed for your team, so that morale could be lifted.

CHECK PARKING AVAILABILITY! The price was very reasonable and the short notice availability greatly helped me. I was staying in a premium room with my wife and our pet dog. The facilities were great and very accommodating. Luxury bed and bathroom. Bar area and restaurant very convenient and reasonably priced. The only downer which was in part my fault for not reading through all the terms and conditions was that parking is limited and doesn’t account for all the rooms the hotel provides and is also located off site of the main hotel building on by 20-30 meters away. However on arrival we were informed that all car parking spaces had been taken and that we could not buy one on arrival. This meant we had to park a considerable distance from the hotel in a pay and display car park, as nearby car parks for Newquay even out of tourist season have a very small capacity and are located nearby the hotel in a busy area of the town. We didn’t see any viable option either to simply drop our luggage off at the the main entrance whilst one of us parked the car. The parking situation is clearly stated on the hotels terms and conditions however I feel it should have been a little more prioritised and more obvious on the terms when making a booking. Otherwise accommodation, food, drink, facilities and accommodation for pets I have no fault with at all and would highly recommend the hotel and should I be in Newquay again I will be looking to stay there again

Been very happy with our stay here. Lovely views of the Atlantic sea. Been lucky with the weather. And a nice restaurant and staff. With a good range of drinks and food. Thank you Great Western Hotel.

I had a nice meal here the food and staff were very accomodating but I didn't have an enjoyable meal here, we were placed next to the banging door where the wind blew constantly it was freezing we asked to move but apparently fully booked despite being half empty for the whole of our time there if I go again top tip specifically ask to not be sat near the freezing end of the restaurant. Food was nice and hot I'm sure with better planning it can get to 5*
