Amazing place that is relatively easy to walk to from the main road car park. Apparently nice for a spot of open water swimming but I can't attest to that!

Gorgeous setting for a dip but cold - 5 degrees today we think! Quite windy as well so definitely go on a quiet, still day - takes about an hour from Carrick Little car park
First time going, had my 11 Yr daughter her 14yr old friend nephew 14yrs and niece 16yrs. All who enjoyed the hike with outstanding views has giving me the hiking bug and am looking forward to my next hike. The beauty of the morne mountains & nature at its best really brings you down to earth and you'll see how much beauty the mornes has to offer. Only down side was we ended up carrying some rubbish down from other hikers. There is several little streams to cross with neatly placed rocks to step on, the blue lough the dam (ben crom reservoir) have falling in love with the place. Looking at taking my youngest on her 1st hike with me soon.
This is a lovely small lake in a beautiful setting. I didn't swim in it but a handful of kids were paddling at the edge. There is a roughly 2 mile walk to get to it and on the warm summer's day that we were there the path was quite busy.
Lovely winter walk, the Pool was so peaceful
