Philip and his staff have gone above and beyond to help and support us with purchasing our dream home. All the staff have a very professional and caring disposition. They are very loyal to their clients and hardworking. I now feel like Philip is more of an acquaintance now and he has helped us settle into our new location and community.

This will be the second time we have instructed Fowlers to sell our house and we also worked with them to sell our daughters house. We have nothing but praise for the quality of the service. This is a long standing independent agent and they have a wealth of knowledge about selling properties here on Dartmoor. We have appreciated their negotiating skills, willingness to hear our input and to answer our questions. All is clear and straightforward, nothing too much trouble. We hope, in due course to achieve a successful sale.
Rented two properties from Fowlers from early 2017 to late 2018. Found Fowlers to be considerate, caring, responsive and professional. Deposits returned promptly at end of our tenancies due to us leaving the properties in good order and staff always treated us with respect.
Unprofessional. Not to be trusted. Best advice; arrange a solicitor in advance whether renting or buying if you absolutely must deal with this agent. Security cameras inside our home were our rescue against these people.
Buyer beware. Renters beware. The owner of this agency is regularly in breach of contract and has been involved in two illegal evictions in the last three months. Quite a disappointment to experience this side of Chagford. We fired fowlers. While I was overseas helping my husband recover from a diving accident that almost took his life (he suffered two strokes), our home was illegally entered regularly by the landlord. Several valuables went missing. Emails to the landlord went unanswered. Fowler's response was an email stating the property was no longer under their management. This was false. Fowlers management of the property continued. While this was happening at our rental property, another client of fowlers was experiencing the same at his property. It seems fowlers has a business model that involves finding kind people to rent run-down properties and fix them at their own expense. An assured shorthold tenancy agreement (which they have no intention of renewing) gives a tenant just enough time to invest a large sum of money and hard work to restore the grounds, purchase landscaping equipment, and furnish a three bedroom. Six months' prepaid rent further line the landlord's desperate pockets. If you have experienced abuse, discrimination or anti social behaviour from this company or a landlord, do not hesitate to contact Devon Police and your local council. Protect your rights.
