Well, it's okay fo a walk in the woods but nothing special. Its a walk through trees. Pleasant enough for the most part. Parts of the path are a little steep so not suited for everyone. Best if you like dogs as no one seems to keep them on a lead. There are toilet facilities in the car park if you need them.

Has been some time since visiting Scrabo and today the car parks were full but we managed to find a space. I walked along through the forest stopping for the view. Can recommend this attraction and hope to return for a picnic/ barbecue soon

Brilliant country park near Newtownards that incorporates Killynether woods, Scrabo tower, the south and north quarries. There's good free carparking that has the woods on one side and the tower and quarries on the other side. It's possible to do a 35 minute circular walk in Killynether woods that takes you to a small lake and back to the carpark, but it can be rocky and steep in parts. The tower is a 10 minute steep walk from the carpark and is an iconic building with great views of Strangford Lough. I would recommend the 50 minute return walk from the carpark to the north quarry, which has a narrow entrance between rocks and feels like a hidden valley. It's easy to spend 2 hours walking around the woods, tower and quarry. There's toilet facilities at the carpark and picnic tables at various points in the park. There's an information board in the carpark with all the walks details.

Great outdoor space with picnic tables and spectacular views of the Ards peninsula. If you intend to go to the Tower itself from the car park, be aware it is quite an incline.

Parts of the paths are very rough but other parts are great condition so good walking shoes/boots needed. Wonderful views from the tower itself and also from the woods if you go that way.

Great place to get the heart pounding (lots of hills) with amazing views.

Spring has (sort of) arrived. The forest is a great if challenging walk. Not for the very young or if you have bad knees

My first time here, although I had visited the forest walks previously but oh my! What views once at Scabo Tower, just breathtaking. The day I visited it was raining intermittently but that really did not spoil anything. The walk from the car park to the Tower I was expecting to be harder than it was but it really was fine (and I'm in my seventies). I am attaching some photographs - but I will be back there again most definately
