One of my favorite restaurants in Obi! The atmosphere and decor are so unique and homey The chicken nanban is really good and you get a lot of food for just 1000 (about 8!) They have a lot of other dishes that are really delicious The owners are like my Obi grandparents and they're both really kind-hearted, generous (they always give me an extra drink for free or some fruit!), and hospitable but I understand that they might seem grumpy or unpleasant at times. Please understand if they are like that since they are both really old and do mostly everything by themselves to run this restaurant. Overall, come for the chicken nanban, and stay for the Japanese grandparents you've always wanted I'm a regular here and I will really really miss them when I leave! TT Hiroe-san and Master, 大好きです!

On the first sight this place looks cozy and welcoming but we were very disappointed. It's tiny room with many tables and because smoking is allowed here you have no place to run from the smell. Prices are regular but people working there are not nice to foreigners. We felt very unwelcomed and got away asap.
Tried their specialty - chicken namban; and found it super delicious. When entering, you are expected to seat yourself - the waitress will hand out their Japanese and English menus as well as hand towels after you sit down. Their sole toilet is Asian-style (not Western-style), and soap is provided. As they have plates of different shapes and sizes, how the dish is arranged and plated is unique to each plate, even if more than one person orders the same dish.
The place looks cozy and nice for chilling after a long walk, you can eat and drink coffee. Smoking is allowed so if you don't want to smoke or smell it better go somewhere else, staff is a little bit rude with foreigners tho...
I traveled from other city to Miyazaki for trying the speciality of Miyazaki called Chicken Nanban. Since the location of our stays in the outskirts, hard to find the place to eat. We got recommendation that Chicken Nanban in this restaurant is exceptional from a person who manage our inn. Did not expect to have a first and the best Chicken Nanban ever. However, the menu is in Japanese which is will be hard if you cannot read Japanese. But if you want to try Chicken Nanban, look at this word チキン南蛮
