Worked here as a cowboy gardner in 1985, looking after the gardens of about an acre, the chickens,pigs, a veggy garden I started, kept the water tanks full, planted fruit trees, made rock gardens, won the NT Tidy Towns competition that year. Just had a look on Google Earth and the place has grown a bit! The job was hard work in the 40 degree heat, I enjoyed the job very much, have good memories, took my wife back there as a guest after we married in Darwin. We built a house in NNSW, and now live in a house we built near Loch Ness in Scotland. Very different! I used my room as a darkroom and won prizes at the Boorooloola show. Now it's all digital. I could write a book about my 9 months at Alexandria, a lot happened in that time. You'd think it would be boring...................
