Historical, natural park and preserve with ducks and frogs, a bamboo nature walk by the lake. It was a camping site of the 1775-76 Anza Expedition. Picnic tables and shaded areas. Well worth a visit. No bathroom. A portable toilet, but it was locked.

I was impressed with this little piece of nature in the city. It is very well maintained and is a nice place to pack a lunch and go for a little walk. I should have thought ahead and brought bug spray. My kids and I got pretty eaten up and left earlier than planned due to the nasty bugs. We didn't see any birds but it was near noon and I hear it is better at dawn or dusk. We will go back and next time, we will bring bug repellent!
