Bloemencorso Bollenstreek is an event held annually in April in The Netherlands. The week of festivities begins when visitors can admire the floats being prepared by teams of volunteers who stake trillions of hyacinths onto giant moulds each depicting an element in the Corso's annual theme. On the Friday evening the Floats can be admired in Noordwijkerhout when the village turns out to celebrate. On the Saturday the main parade kicks off in Noordwijk and rides through the villages of the Bulb growing area in the west of The Netherlands to Haarlem. Over a million visitors line the route and viewing is free. In addition to the floats the spectators can enjoy the marching bands and cars decorated with flowers including tulips from the local fields. The floats can be admired until the Sunday at the end destination in Haarlem. Bloemencorso Bollenstreek is a spectacle of colour for young and old.
