I recently completed the beginners course, and Thelma was the best teacher you could ever ask for. She's patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable, having many years of experience in the field. I could barely thread a sewing machine when I started, and now have the confidence to make dresses, tops and skirts. Would highly recommend to anyone.

I recently got married and Thelma was literally my saviour. I had employed another tailor who butchered my jacket in several ways and even after several repeat repairs from them they were unable to complete the job and were not interested in taking responsibility for their constant errors ignoring my requests and were very unprofessional. This left me in a situation where I literally had 2 days to get it amended. I found the Norbury Sewing Centre and Thelma was the complete opposite form who I initially hired. I showed her my jacket and explained my situation and that I was in despair. She verified all the mistakes the previous tailor had made and confirmed she could correct them. In fact she was able to demonstrate this in about 5-10 minutes by making temporary adjustments. She reassured me and was honest about being able to complete it in time. Thelma instantly put me at ease and I was full of confidence that I would look my best on my wedding day. When it came to collecting the Jacket I was so impressed with what Thelma had done. It was exactly as I wanted it to be. I am eternally grateful for her wonderful work and professionalism. I left with a huge smile on my face and even returned to show her some pictures of the wedding. I cannot recommend her enough. Thelma is straight up and honest and get the job done very well! I will certainly use her again. Lots of love Thelma and thanks once again!!!!

I have taken Beginners sewing classes at Norbury Sewing Centre and cannot praise Thelma (owner and teacher) enough. Thelma is an experienced, pleasant and PATIENT teacher, explaining terms/techniques etc clearly, as many times as needs be! I'm now sewing at home by myself and can just pop into the shop for advice and encouragement. That's what I call 5* service!!!

I have been using this shop for 3 years Bringing all my alterations and getting bespoke items made, such as work wear and evening wear. All my items are done to a high standard. I cannot fault them. I've always been happy with the work they have done for me. They are my secret gem that I dare to share! They always give great customer service, willing to spend time and discuss my dressmaking and alteration dilemmas. A real God sent shop !
