Great place for a picnic , go to the water tower museum first ( entry via donation), look at the amazing views from up top.. then have a nice prepackaged lunch with the kid's on the lawn , walking trails are here also. Take note the swamp dries up mostly in Summer so the best time is after the wet periods. Kid's will love it here i know because i grew up here myself as a kid and have always enjoyed this place.

I have been visiting Star Swamp regularly for a number of years and love this huge quiet natural bushland reserve. I walked my dog daily for 20 years and regret that dogs can no longer be walked off lead here. There used to be a convergence of dog walkers lead by the late Granny Pat, who herself had no dog, but always had smackoos for the pack of dogs and sometimes chocolates people, who knew and loved this gracious lady.
Hidden in suburbia is a lovely place to go for a wander, walk the did and enjoy nature. Only down side is the ignorant cyclists flying round the paths without a car for anyone
Great for walking with the dog. Quite a good choice of paths to walk along. Probably best in autumn, winter or spring when there is less chance of snakes. It is a nice piece of nature in the middle of the suburbs. The signs with local history add an extra level of interest to the reserve.
Next best thing to going bush - but in suburbia!
Good bushland venue. A bit dry at at this time of the year. Some lovely white tail black cockatoos.
Easy flat ground walk, multiple trails and some history behind it makes for a great day out!! I recomend this trail if you are looking for something adventurous but easy
Wildflowers hot spot and beautiful pathways around Reserve .very enjoble and relaxing good place
