Sick and tired of officers who feel they are above the law not just in North Charleston, but all over the tri county area. (See picture of officer texting and driving. I noticed it was out and a traffic light and witnessed him continue to while driving through the intersection to the next light, so I grabbed my phone to capture it once we were stopped.) The officers at my church who should be on high alert (and possibly could have prevented sexual assaults occuring there if they were actually patrolling the building or helping review video footage) instead are CONSTANTLY staring at their phones. It is sooo frustrating to know my tax dollars (and possibly tithes) are going to these lazy people. Officers should not have personal phones on their job considering there job is to be on the lookout. This is not my only complaint. As I white woman, I consistently notice hispanics in the area being harassed. For example, a man completely cooperating as his car was searched with 4 officers on scene, or the time that there were literally 4-5 cars with hazard lights on broken down in a one mile span, but numerous officers had pulled over one Mexican man in the area and were hanging out there instead of helping. When I was hit in a car accident, it took an officer about 30 minutes to arrive despite the fact that it happened less than half a mile from the police station. This department is a joke and has negatively colored my opinion of law enforcement in general. I don't know if they are just lazy or corrupt...it seems like a bit of both. Train your officers that they are NOT above the law...they should exemplify it!

A good friend of mine was in a motor vehicle accident late last night, an was T-boned on the right side of her vehicle. As usual, the North Charleston police department took the easy route when it came to reporting in stead of doing their job right to begin with. Shame on them for their unprofessional work ethics, and pure laziness!!!

Why have an emergency number aka, “911” if no one answers! I called tonight and it just rang and rang. So I looked up the North Charleston Police Department number from Google, called them, and some lady said she would transfer me, it gave me the option to press 2 for emergencies or wait on the line. I had a emergency so I pressed 2, yet again it rang and rang. So I hung up. I just don’t understand why a police station doesn’t have anyone answering phones. What if I had been shot? What if my husband was having a heart attack? What if my baby was chocking? NO ONE ANSWERED FOR ME! How can I feel safe in a world if our paid law enforcements are not even there when we truly need them! In my person opinion North Chas Police are nothing but a joke! This isn’t the first bad experience we’ve had when them, but i pray it’s the last time. They deserve no stars but that’s not an option, thanks google

I was questioned by the police while i was sitting my car waiting for my shift to start. I had to come toveork due to the weather. The officier try to be intimating . This police department is a joke and they waste tax payers money. They are a disgrace to that badge. .
