Wow, BBQ and southern hospitality at its best. This place is super good, they have a great choice of meat with incredible sides. I love their Brisket Sandwich and sweet potato Fries. They also have good desserts and a friendly staff.

Amazing place to eat white soup. I would say the best place in LA. It tastes milky and rich with bone broth flavors. . You can ask for scissors if you need to cut meat.

I am a Fan of KTLA-Channel 5 news Monday at 5am, and I saw the advertised spotlight on 'Black Bottom Southern Kitchen'. I was excited to know a Southern Cuisine has hit LA all the way from Virginia. My excitement poured into a text to my boyfriend that we must check it out. In my opinion there hasn't been a good Soul Food Restaurant since 'Aunt Kizzy's Back Porch'. Therefore I am in search of the next Soul Food Spot. We wanted to get out of the house on Saturday and Black Bottom Southern Kitchen made the top of the to-do list. Saturday August 22, 2020 afternoon, we drove all the way from Apple Valley, 92308 to 'Black Bottom Southern Kitchen' 95 miles. On arrival, Covid-19 Precautions were practiced, we parked in Space #3, reviewed the menu on my smartphone and called and placed an order. We decided to try a little bit of everything to test things out and we did. We ordered the BBSK Wings, The Soul Bowl, Mac & Cheese, Southern Greens, BBQ Baked Beans, Peach Cobbler and Front Porch Lemonade. We drove to the nearest park and sat in the car and ate.Well unfortunately, I was a little disappointed to say the least, my review is as follows; 1. The BBSK Wings- The chicken wings were big and juicy but I could not find any Seasoning anywhere on it. 2. The Soul Bowl- Very Good and quite tasty....I enjoyed this !! 3. Mac & Cheese- Very bland but cheesy 4. Southern Greens- Basic but Good 5. BBQ Baked Beans- The beans were Crunchy (like raw) and in tomato paste 6. Gumbo- Terrible, Watery Soup, No Flavor, but had 2 Large Shrimp 7. Peach Cobbler- Very Tasty Please Note: Maybe Saturday August 22nd at 3:15pm was a Bad/Off day. I am willing to give 'Black Bottom Southern Kitchen' another try possibly next year. This will allow them to work on the cook's recipe and game plan. And, my boyfriend said NO, he doesn't want to return (only 1-shot).
