I worked for holland for 21 years. left for another union carrier. Best move i could have made. i wish i would have done it when holland was bought by YRC. in my opinion, being bought out was the worst thing that happend to a great company.
Use this company at your own risk. The delivery driver and the one person in dispatch was very nice, but the billing department will charge you a surprise fee to fix an issue they created in the first place. I have been ordering a pallet from a company in Tennessee almost monthly for years. Another carrier usually delivers it to my business within 2 days maybe 3 days without a hitch. This time around the company that I buy the product from had a lower quote from Holland and decided they would help me out and use Holland to ship this order. BIG MISTAKE! The order shipped on a Monday and we were supposed to see it on Thursday, that's already longer than normal but it is what it. Thursday comes and goes. On Friday afternoon I get a call letting us know that we'll see the shipment on Monday. We call back and let Holland know that we've waited long enough and we need order. They call back, let us know that they found a truck to deliver to us and we'll see it that day. Which was great! Friday afternoon our pallet arrives. The driver was incredibly nice we get our shipment and all is good. Until today that is when my vendor informs me that they were charged an additional 150 \limited access fee\ because they had to get a smaller truck to deliver the pallet on Friday (a day later than expected). The carrier that we usually use delivers to us in a full size semi all time. There is even more to this story, but I think that I have painted a good enough picture.
