I would actually give this hotel and negative 5 if I could. We checked in as it was the closest hotel to Lions Gate hospital where my husband was having back surgery the next day. After travelling from Kamloops we did not check shower. The next morning my husband went into the shower and we found nothing but black mold everywhere. We complained to Wyndham and was told to contact the hotel manager which we did. He refused to refund our money or to accommodate us in any way periods are also homeless people staying in the parking lot. This was completely unacceptable we found Wyndham and they also refused to refund our money. Absolutely poor service and poor hotel rooms. When asked if black mold was acceptable we would get no answer which leads us to believe that black mold is indeed acceptable in their bathrooms and showers. Will never stay at this hotel or any other Wyndham Hotel. I highly suggest you find another much cleaner place to stay. Cape May

Normally I'm pretty chill about accommodations, but this hotel seemed to have a few things wrong with it. • On arrival, the hotel does a massive hold on one's credit card. Not a big deal, but it should be clearly stated. • The shower in the room that was booked has NOT been cleaned after the previous guest(s). Used bars of soap & bottles of shampoo and conditioner were left behind in the shower, along with some hair from whomever was last to use it. • Went back to the front desk and explained the situation of the unclean bathroom to the clerk on night duty, and he said, "I'll make a note about that." No offer to switch rooms until after we pressed him pointing out that it was a health and safety issue — especially in the current situation. After that he switched us to a neighbouring room. • The next morning on checkout, the clerk had no record of the room change, which implies another problem in management. Other lesser issues: • Currently the land immediately adjacent to the hotel is a construction site. • There were a number of signs of disrepair, from torn upholstery, a ripped lampshade, and flaking paint on a few spots. • Other signs of inadequate cleaning included the stains between the tiles in the shower and the large number of cobwebs around the support pillars outside the room. • Some kind of fragrance (sandalwood?) was sprayed in the room. It's a bit overpowering and probably done to cover up other odors. The positive things that I liked: • The bed was very comfortable and clean. • The location is good: right across the bridge from Stanley Park and just down the street from Park Royal mall. • There's a Denny's restaurant on the same block.
Great rooms, clean and quiet! TV, duvets, a desk and friendly staff. 5 stars, would visit again.
My experience with this motel was quite.... unique. Because I travel for work, I need a solid wifi connection. Unfortunately there was a power outage while I was there (not the fault of Travelodge, of course) so there were no lights or wifi to work with. When I asked for a refund so I could go to a different hotel with power/wifi, I was told it was not possible, which I understand. However, even after the power came back on 3-4 hours later, the wifi still didn't work, and wasn't working the next morning either. The TV didn't work for my entire stay either. When I first arrived, I was told there was water damage in the closet of my room, which I said was fine since I was only staying one night and didn't need to unpack. Unfortunately the leak started up again and I heard a loud drip-drip-drip the ENTIRE night. I asked for additional towels to help muffle the noise, which I was kindly given. I also asked for earplugs but sadly they did not have any. It made for a very unpleasant, sleepless night. A few other notables: Receptionist at the front desk was so kind and lovely to talk to. The bed was firm but not uncomfortable. Sheets and towels were nice and clean. The heater worked well in my room and kept me warm. You can hear everything that happens outside the room, but that's normal for a motel... however, I stayed there during a quiet night so it wasn't an issue. There are long-term guests staying in this place. Overall, if it hadn't been for the water leak and the lack of wifi, it would have been a decent stay for a budget motel.
Comfortable place to stay in. Came back there after almost 3 years when I first stayed !
Had a horrendous and traumatizing experience with this hotel. The room was damp and smelly, the carpet was burnt with cigarette at many places. The heating systems are ages old (may be 100yrs old, fit to be displayed in museums) and were not working at all despite running for 3 to 4 hours. We requested for a room change and the other room was also in similar shanty condition. We realized that all rooms are more or less same and if ever we spend a night here, we will fall sick for sure due to the cold weather and ineffective infrastructure of hotel. We requested for a cancelation citing the mentioned problems, this hotel refused to acknowledge their issues and also refused to provide refund. The hotel.com (website we used for booking) representative was incapable of any help and was in return trying to convince us to stay/manage there for a night in cold even if there were high chances of us falling sick. Finally, we had to forgo our money and look for a different hotel at the middle of the night. I have never had this kind of pathetic experience with any hotel or a booking website not just in Canada but also in any part of the world. Its so sad to see how these hotels just focus on minting money and pays least importance in maintenance and customer service. We spent our night (in a different place) in extreme stress and trauma and also learnt our lesson to be more careful and cautious while booking hotels online after checking the reviews properly. Hope this review helps you folks in making a decision before going ahead with any reservations.
It's a dump. Go across the street for less money and nicer room.
It's a dated dump. It's a motel not a hotel. Seedy area of the city. I expected it to be much cleaner.
