Friendly wait staff, excellent menu which lives up to its promises and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. (Extremely good portions may I add) Exciting vibes, good decor - truly a slice of America in Northampton. Always been a fan and I will return! Also the cocktails are second-to-none.
A ‘Buddies' diner first opened in Northampton Town Centre in 1981 with an iconic Americana themed decor and menu of 50-odd quirkily-named burgers. Over time, various other restaurants were added [at one time possibly as many as eight] with the Sixfields venue coming on-stream in 2006. This was the site of the old Little Chef restaurant located on the westbound side of the A45 that had traded there until around 2004/05. The Sixfields location has always been popular, being attractively close to the nearby football and rugby grounds with its easy access/egress from all major motorway routes and free parking. However, in 2018 new owners Simpsons Catering Ltd came along and attempted to streamline the menu, an approach that was not universally popular with their customers. The relaunched menu was met with much resistance by diners on social media and in these online reviews. As a result, Simpson's tried again with a different menu introduced in Feb-2019. It's fair to say that based on the many reviews here . . . many customers are still not convinced. Anyways, happily all that menu kerfuffle never got in the way of the glorious all-day-breakfast.
Friendly staff, food was lush and fairly priced, quick service
American diner next to the travel lodge at Sixfields, went here twice during our stay for the Sixfields Rock Festival, food was excellent (and plenty of it) free refills on Tea and Coffee, staff were friendly and overall attentive, prices are reasonable as well, great place for breakfast
The atmosphere was really good, it felt like you were in a real American diner, the food was amazing! So much choice and variety, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the prices were reasonable.
Went on Saturday evening 29/4/17 for my sons 13th birthday and we had a brilliant time. The food was great, prices were super low, there were 5 of us and we all ate for less then 60 total including drinks !! Amazing value and the portions were HUGE!! The staff were great and never ignored you, don't understand some of the reviews as we found everything to be awesome and we will definitely be going again.
Milkshakes are amazing, perfect first date place. Great choice of burgers, and huge portion sizes. Decor is cool too.
