Offering comics, graphic novels, collectibles and related merchandise, and a huge number of back-issues. They stock all the big names plus indie titles and are happy to support local small press publications. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations for those looking to try new books, and have never yet steered me wrong. They take the time to get to know their customers, do a huge amount for the local community and are well deserving of both your support and your money.

Comics are not exactly my thing, and I only went in to pick up a gift for a mate, but I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with the rather impressive collection of comics, books, action figures, posters, games...you name it, they had it!!! It was nicely organised, allowing even a novice like myself to navigate through all the options, and there was an obvious passion about the place, which to me, added a little bit of magic to the whole experience. I'm not exactly big on these type of things, but will definitely go again and might actually pick something up for myself.

Been buying from this shop for several years now, by far the best place in the town for the type of product. Owner is always helpful when ordering in a book and runs great events with great guests. Pays a good price when purchasing collections too. Would definitely recommend.
Every time I am in the vicinity, I make a point of going into Close Encounters. A lovely open shop with lots of light and knowledgeable staff. While I don't always find what I wanted, I usually find something to take away and know that I am supporting my local friendly comic shop. It's also a small press friendly comic shop which is always a good way of finding out about new creators before they make it big.
