I'm disappointed with Northeast Dermatology. They discriminate towards individuals who have Medicaid insurance. They have a different set of rules for Medicaid clients compared to those with employer-sponsored insurances. When asked why was I being singled out, I was informed that it was because I have Medicaid as my secondary insurance. But, I haven't had Medicaid for years. So, now their excuse is because of past payment issues. So then I ask, when have I ever not paid. Would you believe it...I'm still waiting on a response. I can not recommend this office to anyone who is looking for a practice that offers fair and non-discriminatory services. Be a blessing always!

Dr. Carson Lee is ok, but her receptionist is not pleasant. I've seen her in the past and wanted to know how much they would charge for a visit to see the doctor as self-pay. They apparently will not give you an appointment if you have no insurance, even when I openly stated I will pay the bill. She wouldn't even tell me how much the average visit just to see the doctor costs. I mentioned my daughter has Medicaid, which they don't accept and then she said if I came in they would make me talk to the Compliance Officer about Medicaid Fraud!!! I asked her why and she couldn't give me a good answer. I asked how is it fraud if I say we have Medicaid and are willing to self-pay since they don't accept Medicaid. I don't know if she didn't understand me or is just unwilling to accept appointments from someone with Medicaid. Whatever the case, it rubbed me the wrong way and I will not go back myself. I guess if you have Medicaid, you don't deserve to see Dr. Carson even if you are able to pay the bill yourself.

I assisted my mother when she went to Northeast Dermatology for her appointment and was very impressed with everyone in the office. Ashley greeted us at check in with a smile, was very polite, and helpful with any of our questions. My mother had misplaced her Medicare card and didn't have her policy number but Marie in the insurance department offered to search the database and quickly found her policy. She is good at what she does and has a no nonsense approach which I absolutely love. The nurse took us back and she too was kind and understanding of my elderly mother's condition. Our doctor was Devon Driver, NP. These days Its rare to find a doctor who slows down long enough to actually listen, show compassion, and empathy but to my surprise Devon was AMAZING! Extremely knowledgeable and so nice!! She did it all with a smile and my impression was that she genuinely cared which also is rare. And last but not least, Marie at checkout worked around my mothers schedule to find a follow up appointment that worked for her. I would highly recommend Northeast Dermatology to all of my family and friends. Phenomenal staff!

My overall experience with this facility was a poor. My concerns were dismissed by the dermatologist during my visit. I had to request an actual exam, not just a fly by glance at my skin. I had to request the skin tags be removed one of my primary reasons for going. The assistant was more compassionate during the visit. I had to point out my concerns multiple times. I was treated as if I was a number and not a person. Then, I was contacted during work hours regarding my bill. This was the first successful contact I had received regarding the visit. I answered thinking it was the ER I had just been released from. I informed the billing person I was at work and could not pay it at that time and would take care of it the next day, she became rude with me threatening me with a late charge. She claimed a letter had been sent a week ago, but I received it after this conversation transpired. Admittedly, out of frustration, I did explain the multiple losses in my family and medical issues that had taken priority over the letter they supposedly mailed me that week that I had not received and told her not to be a b:?&. As I had told her before she started tacking on charges, I paid the bill during business hours the next day. I am not sure how I am suppose to pay a bill I haven’t received. They should have saved their precious money on postage for this withdrawal of care because there is no way I would ever step back in that office after being treated that way.

The dermatologists are great, treatment is great... Billing and payment and insurance, horrible. Walked out because like others state, reception can't provide statement of costs or articulate as to what was paid or what charges are pending, and cant even provide reasonable info on my account.. I have great insurance, would be nice to use my benefits here the way they are supposed to be used, sorry if i don't want to pay costs upfront after-tax, especially charges i know nothing of and that cant seem to be explained to me when asked. Feel like i am treated like a complete bum at reception every time because I am trying to use my HRA to pay the co-pays once they're billed.. Nobody appreciates feeling that way..

My provider is great but the office staff always ruins the experience with their surly and brusque manner.

I LOVED DR. CARSON. However, this office not in network for Prisma Health insurance. I have a plan that covers out of network visits. They refused to file my insurance and told me I would have to be self pay and that will be 252 due NOW. I suggest Prisma health ( largest employer in Columbia) employees find a different dermatologist.
