It's always a pleasure to play Sandy Lodge .. Greens and tees are in fantastic shape.. fairways are good considering the amount of rain we've had recently.. The 19 hole Marquee is such a nice play to relax after a round.. Can't wait for my next game...

Fantastic course, condition was great for this time of year... Practice facilities were very good, and friendly members. Would really consider joining here.

Brilliantly kept course. Groundsmen (people) take pride in what they do here. Possibly the best greens I've played. Fast and true! Don't go in them bunkers

The bunkers For at least 30 years (as reported by long standing members) the bunkers at Sandy Lodge have been terrible. Some bone dry and hard baked and others amateurishly overfilled with sand. The sand in the practice bunker (which is very good) bears no resemblance to any bunker on the course. Staggering that such a simple thing cannot be fixed. There have been attempts to work on some of the bunkers but no real progress in consistency has been made. In this respect the course is akin to a rundown municipal course. The chipping green The course is a links in design meaning hard and fast greens. On the contrary, the chipping green is soft, like a parkland course. Chipping on the chipping green will not prepare you for the actual course and in fact is very misleading. Food and beverage Limited with little flexibility. The course itself is decent but decades of poor management and under- investment are bearing fruit you would expect. It used to be an Open Qualifying venue but, understandably, no longer.

This place is absolutely fantastic. Have played at a number of local premium courses over the last few weeks but this is a true gem. Played here yesterday as Batchworth and Moor Park closed due to rain. Well done to the team at Sandy, the course is in pristine condition. The clubhouse is also extremely inviting and the staff are well trained.
