Sad to say they closed in 2017. Review left here for posterity. Large chain pub with friendly young staff and older customers. During the day it's not crowded and an excellent place to meet, read, or answer emails in peace. Food and coffee are particularly good value and enough choice for vegetarians. Can't fault it for what it is.

It was packed on a Friday night but we managed to grab a table quite easily. The waitress was quick to clean up our table. The guy at the bar got one order wrong and my wife didn't get her Buttermilk Chicken. The waitress was quick to sort it out. The Buffalo Wings are normally pretty good but they was black this time. The waitress sorted it out as well which was good. I really don't know how Wetherspoons managed to keep their food so cheap. Decent and good valued food. It comes with a beer for less than 7. How wrong can it get!

Friendly staff. Good food choices and good choice of cask ales . There are good meal and beer deals every day. Unfortunately this has now closed down

Food is great while ur having a pint. But if its only food your after then there is a great restaurant across the road called Star Express, large portions and cheap.

I have no idea how good the food or service is, because, before I could sit down, outside, the manager came and told me that my dog wasn't allowed...outside. A bit bizarre to me, but whatever, their pub, their rules. But that's ok, Zufa restaurant, just down the street, was happy to seat me and my dog, and they were absolutely lovely, everything was great! In the end, Im glad The William Joel shooed me away, otherwise I would never have tried Zufa!

Awful service from arrogant, unfriendly short girl. Food is awful, pints are even worse. Stay away.
