So many herbs, spices, dried fruit, grains, pulses & beans to buy unpacked. When there's not a pandemic on, can supply my own containers and minimise plastic waste. Lots of other cooking ingredients available too, some otherwise hard to locate

Well. Every time I have bought from this stall the staff have been rude and unhelpful, but today took the biscuit. I suffer from anxiety and so thought that I would write a clear list with measurements for each item and hand it to whoever was serving. I asked if I could hand the list over and was categorically told o\. He said that he wasn't allowed to take anything from customers and told me to read it out. This stall, as far as I am aware, only takes cash. Cash. Items that have been in various people's hands. They also have a trolley set up for payment, so he wouldn't have had to touch it, just look at it and then I'd take it back. I could even have held the list up to the perspex so that he could see. I didn't get offered those options; just a refusal of help. During this pandemic I had found to get better service, as a disabled person, from the smaller businesses than the bigger, national ones. Until now. I asked for fennel before becoming too anxious to continue, so told him to forget it and left. My anxiety then continued for the rest of my food shop, elsewhere. As if the rude woman who works there isn't bad enough, now there's this ignorant bloke! They have lost my custom.

Credit where credit is due; Good range of quality produce, fair prices. My compliments end there. I experienced rudeness far beyond what one would expect even when factoring in the 'having a bad day' margin. I was also patronised as if I didn't understand what I was asking for. If you're thick-skinned and arrogant yourself I'm sure you'll just love the place.
