Pre booked menu with assurances my dietary needs could be met. I have a food allergy, so ordered the vegan choices to get around any issues. 3 attempts to get the right starter. 1st attempt was my dessert (or someone else's starter, seeing as my dessert had to be made fresh at the end), 2nd attempt was the soup others had (containing cream) and being assured it didn't have cream. I'm allergic to cows milk, I'd have been very ill if I'd taken him at his word. Hurrah! Attempt number 3 was the correct soup. Fast forward to end of meal, I have to say though, it was all very delicious, and I start to feel unwell (and was for 3 days). I suspect cross contamination, maybe a spoon used in buttery veg used on my 'nude' veg? We'll never know. In a nutshell - food very nice but have a lot to learn about allergy control.
