The Ida Institute is an independent, non-profit educational institute funded by a grant from the Oticon Foundation. Our mission: To foster a better understanding of the human dynamics associated with hearing loss. We aim to affect a positive shift in the field of audiology, where we move from an over-emphasis on technology to a more balanced approach that places the patient front and center. The impetus for our work stems from outcome data in audiology that suggests advances in technology have not led to significant improvements in patient outcomes. Through the combination of tools, seminars, workshops, e-Learning modules, and our web offerings, the Ida Institute provides practical, actionable knowledge to hearing care professionals. We embrace a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach when exploring the human dynamics of hearing loss.
