Nassauer Haus is a 15th-century residential tower located just across Königstraße from the historic St. Lorenz Church. Used for defensive purposes during earlier centuries, the Nassauer Haus is the last remaining residential tower from the Middle Ages. The tower is built of red sandstone, includes impressive covered battlement, decorative corner towers and other interesting Gothic features that make it attractive for viewing. Badly damaged during WWII bombings, Nassauer Haus was reconstructed between 1950-52 in the same manner and appearance prior to the war. You can conveniently have a look of this historic tower before or after your visit to the church. Then continue onward with other intended sightseeing in the area.
