Quality meals at a reasonable price, beer is cold and fresh, staff are friendly, notably cleaner than other drinking holes in the town!
Was only staying in town for the weekend and I loved it here, really kind and professional staff who treated us well and regularly checked up on us and how we were going, really good food, I got the scotch fillet and it was perfectly cooked and they are generous with the gravy unlike so many places that never has enough. Great night, I will definitely be coming back here.
It’s the racism for me. Rude as soon as we walked in. Older man complained about us being Asian then lectured one of our members about not having a drivers license. Just overall rude about it. Lady next to him was nice at least and helped us sign in ok. Realised we would have to wait an hour until the restaurant opened but no one let us know. They just said the restaurant wasn’t open yet and said we should just take a seat and wait. Our parents had arrived by then and my dad talked to staff to see if the restaurant would be able to open earlier. The older man who was rude before then walked pass, talking to another staff and we overheard him say that he was just gonna make us wait and then kick us out on the street. Last straw for us so we just left on our own to eat at a cafe down the road. Absolutely trash service.
My initial concerns upon entering the Oberon RSL Club were that the place looked very dated. It is not a modern club but it would oddly out of place if it was. The patrons and staff were helpful and friendly and the portions in the Bistro were huge. Well prepared food was served quickly while running at around 40%-50% capacity. Washed my food down with a nice cold can of Canadian Club & Dry.
