We couldn't quite understand why this site attracts such mixed reviews. Sure it's basically a car park, but there are a few trees around the edge, the toilet block has some mold in the ceiling but it's been scrubbed. It's not that bad. And then we met the site manager and all becomes clear. Not only do you have to park between the stripped poles, you also have to park between the imaginary poles that exists only in his head. I kid you not, we watched him wake up an entire row of motorhomes to force them all to move 20cm sideways. Other points to note; the showers are by token which you have to buy from the office for 1 between 4pm and 6pm or 9am to 10am. The one fresh water tap is only on 9am to 6pm, and there's a queue of motorhomes topping up in the morning. Washing machine is three tokens, but is on a timer so if the person before you (there is always a queue) had a short wash you can use their time. Drying is one token. The toilet emptying point is a grill in the ground, just where everyone walks over it to get to the toilet block. Pitches are unfair - if you're in a 12m motorhome you get some space front and back and about 3m to the side, so about 70sqm. If you're in a VW campervan you get about 50cm either side, so about 20sqm. But you all pay the same price. The small vans are really crammed in with barely enough space to open the doors. Some of the pitches are the same size as the others but almost entirely filled with a tree, you could just possibly get one of those really small car-based campers in them. And woe betide you if the manager finds you've strayed a millimetre outside your allocated area. The pitches on your left (over the water) as you enter get a little bit of road noise. Location-wise it's a few minutes walk into the centre of town and also the lift station (which was closed when we were there). Booking in involves filling in a form from the box on the front of the building and queuing to pay in advance during office hours.

Nice location to ski from as lifts are a few minutes walk away

Motorhome parking on an industrial scale. Basically a huge car park with vans crammed in every available corner. There is a toilet block which is dated but clean and despite being very busy in mid-September it was quiet overnight and everyone seemed friendly enough. Excellent location and only a short walk to the town and the cable car station, great base for hiking and cycling. You arrive, find a space (if you can) and then fill out a form in the reception/toilet block area. During office opening hours everyone queues up with their forms and goes into an office one by one (with the door closed) and sits down at a desk to pay a man for your stay. Really weird, but quite amusing! For some bizarre reason drinking water is only available between 9am-6pm, so there's a big rush in the mornings to dump waste and fill up with fresh water, could be a new spectator sport.

A fantastic site right on the edge of a wonderful town. After finding a space to park (between the orange & black posts which mark out each emplacement.) report to the office during opening hours to book in.
