My husband and I have been frequenting Gopuram for years. We used to go to their location at 23rd and Meridian. Quite honestly we much preferred the decor/atmosphere there. They took over a building that used to be Louies off of Meridian and I40. Same amazing food, same delightful waiters. I read a review complaining about cockroaches, never have we seen any. As far as complaints about their covid policy there are no standardized policies from the CDC. That should be evidenced by the drastic differences between one business and another. The only reason I dropped a star is the restrooms smell horrible and are not kept clean.

We have been enjoying Gopuram for years but this was a location we had not been before and we arrived kind of late...8pm and mid week. This is a buffet and some of the serving dishes were empty but we asked our waiter for what we wanted and were served promptly. Several more tables of customers came in behind us and then service was great, everything was hot. The manager came by to make sure everything was okay. I requested a Mediterranean tea, which they did not offer. I asked for a pot of tea with 2 cups. They brought 2 cups of tea. Overall this was good. We do recommend them but better to arrive during the dinner hour.
There COVID policy is horrible. Was there for their lunch buffet today bit late in the afternoon only to find most of their tray was empty. That wasn’t the real problem. I was sitting with my two guest, waiting for the food to be refilled when I notice 3 new customers entering the restaurant. One of the customer was not wearing a mask and the waiter greeted them without saying anything. The non-masked customer preceded to go the the buffet area without a mask and continued to serve himself. The whole time the waiter did not say anything to the customer. Just before I could say something, another elderly customer entered and preceded to buffet without a mask. At this point, I was outraged and lost my appetite. I addressed my concern to the waiter and he spoke to the other customers then apologized. What made the situation worst is when the owner came to us only to explain that he could not make his customers wear a mask. According to him, CDC only mandate his customers to wear a glove while on the buffet line. Not to mention that it’s too hard for his business to refuse a customer for not wearing a mask. Not sure what the real CDC policy is but his attitude and the way he addressed my concern was very poor.. one of a simple greedy business man.. I won’t ever go back .. Pity..
It was spicy but super delicious. Amazing customer service and very welcoming. I loved it!
This place is amazing. Amazing food, amazing service. The buffet is delicious. The Tikka Masala is to die for! The Naan bread is exquisite. Definitely will be back again. Also, they have proper guidelines for the coronavirus pandemic.
