To go there to get out of the house perfect, browsing definitely, knowing what you are looking for, for the regulars, can be disappointing, buying a sweet treat on your previous visit, going back to find the same treat, and it hasn't been available for a couple of weeks. Currently out of the many food stall offerings, maybe a handful that maintain their taste and presentation, the others are a game of roulette and some you avoid all together, what you see on display and what you get from a taste perspective, is like travelling from North to South, miles apart... Management, more tables, chairs and definitely more umbrellas for shading.

One of the best craft markets I have come across in Joburg so far. With the new location, @ The Big Red Barn, the market became like a weekend fair. Lots of exceptional quality crafts to browse through, lots of delicious food options to choose from and awesome facilities for things to do for kids or even the whole family. I find it an amazing weekend outing. I wish I had the time to visit more often.

It is a pleasant market, with quite some popularity. There are many stalls, the people come and enjoy the day together, & you are in the mix with specialist stalls, novel ideas & products, woodwork, baskets, African figurines & beads, furniture, crafts & artwork & of course, all the food & drinks stalls! Lovely to spend a Saturday there or so. Take your family with, for the first time, or again if you've been before, if this is one of the things you are ok with doing, & have a good day at this Irene Market. Thanks to the organisers for allowing cyclists to visit also! Like me. Keep it going & keep it godly.
