He was condescending when I stated to him that I wasn't sure if my child had pink eye or another virus. He states that pink eye is a virus ( really). He gave my child the creeps by pushing away from him when he coughed, he then proceeds to say in an offensive tone to my child, cover your mouth and he motions with his arm across his mouth. Ummmh, you're a PA not the etiquette teacher and a 3 year old who is sick and lethargic isn't thinking about covering his mouth even though he's been taught to do so. The PA's visceral response was unwarranted. Not-to-mention. If you are such a germaphobe then pediatric medicine is the wrong profession for you. In the end, having a poor bed side manner and lacking the ability to show compassion to a sick 3 year old who had pink eye and a cold at a late afternoon office visit (yes, during nap time) was a huge turn off.
