The staff, from cleaners to doctors at the ASHA center on the whole were fantastic at my time of May June 2017. At the time they tried everything within their means to help me. They showed a great degree of empathy I was an extremely difficult case... I did feel though that I was given an antidepressant medication (in good faith) that had a severe effect on me and was not needed. My depression was a symptom of withdrawal and no antidepressant could of helped with that. Therefore carefully decide upon what you are going to put into your body now that you are breaking free from a destructive dependency. The food was excellent. The building is small yet very spacious inside. The grounds are nice and it's very quiet, just out in the countryside. They gave me space when I needed it. This is very important in recognising when someone is genuinely distressed. The patients with whom I stayed with were of all a fantastic nature. I am now free of any type of psychotropic med. I feel comfortable in going back to thank them for their help... There are only 2 centers in Northern Ireland that deal with addiction withdrawal issues. There is always a long complicated waiting list and with such a growing drugs problem we need many more centers like these and much more funding for existing ones. I also believe the different area trusts should be merged together to make things easier. AK

Staff are absolutely excellent, rooms could do with a searous overhaul, food excellent,, only two off the staff were arrogant, obnoxious, and searously need retraining in manners, were very harsh on quiet patients, but the patients that were prepared to speak their mind we're singled out as haveing attitude problems?
