Excellent food!!! It was our first time there and we absolutely will go back again and again. We used to go to Lincoln whenever we crave such authentic food. Finally, we found a restaurant in Omaha that makes delicious, authentic and outstanding kababs and lambs. We tried the Mantu and was perfectly cooked. As other reviewers stated, the rice was beautifully cooked and seasoned. The most important thing, everything is FRESHLY made, which is a quality not found in many other middle eastern and asian restaurants in Omaha, Masha’allah.

The lamb shanks were . Came with fragrant rice and the raisins add a hint a sweetness. This isn’t a spicy dish for those who are not used to spicy food. The chicken biryani was also well seasoned and fragrant. It’s spicy and the rice is more moist than the Indian counterparts. The service was great. The owner is super friendly.
Our first time here. The guy was so helpful and patient while we decided what to try. The mantu appetizer was delicious. My lamb practically fell off the bone. Everything had great flavors.
I ate at Shahen Afghan a couple weeks ago for the first time. The staff were personable and delightful. The food was unique, delicious, and inexpensive for the generous portions. I will surely be back and have already recommended the restaurant to friends.
I ordered the Mix Combo (lamb, chicken and Shami with rice) and it was excellent. Tons of flavor, cooked perfectly, and large portion. Very friendly staff who will also help you decide what to order if you need help. I also recommend the baghlawa for dessert. I highly recommend Shahen Afghan, and it will definitely be on my regular take out list.
