Park Grove

In June 2013, my late 91 year old sister–in-law, Mrs Elsie Wass moved into Park Grove following a number of falls at home and short stay Hospital admissions. Social Services decided that she was no longer fit enough to live alone in her bungalow in Ormskirk. They gave her the choice of a number of Care Homes in the Ormskirk area and she chose Park Grove. She could not have picked a better Care Home, Park Grove is spotless and all the Staff are caring, pleasant and all seem to go ‘the extra mile’ for the benefit of the residents. Elsie had a large very pleasant airy bedroom on the first floor overlooking the main road. She took her own ‘riser chair’ with her and spent her days chatting with the other three of four residents in her lounge or watching the TV. She settled in very well and was as happy as anyone can be who has had to leave her own home to go into care. She was a bit of a fussy eater but the Chef’s went out of their way to ensure she got what she liked. She began to seriously fade, due to her advanced years in October 2015 and at the end the Staff were outstanding. They never left her alone in her room for the last three or four days and two were with her at the end in early November 2015. I cannot recommend Park Grove too highly and her family will never forget the kindness shown to her.
