I booked online and paid in advance. I had used Halfords several times before, as they had always done small jobs like this quickly and without any fuss. I selected an appointment time offered for 10.30 a.m. I arrived just before this and was told that as the manager had only 2 technicians in that day he could not pull them off their other jobs so I should leave the car and wait for him to call me when the battery was fitted. No timescale for this was committed to, he just repeated that it was a drop off appointment that I had booked and that he could not take the technicians off the jobs they were working on. He did say that he would get it done as soon as he could. It was a cold day, there was nowhere inside to wait (at least none was offered), so I went for a walk, expecting the job to be done soon. I returned after half an hour and saw that the car had not moved. I asked if the job was done and was told no, my appointment was only for the drop off I would be told when the job was done. After a bit more discussion where he checked my booking and confirmed it was for a drop off appointment only he said he would take one of the technicians off the job he was working on, and stormed off to find him. The technician came to the car and, after a couple of minor issues, installed the battery. I left about an hour after I arrived. So, all in all, the job was done, time taken was longer than I would have expected, but not too bad - but the attitude seemed all wrong.

Changed two tyres for me, took an hour and ten minutes........that wouldn't normally have been a problem except that because of covid no one was allowed to wait inside (which is right) but it was -2 outside. Dropped a star because the wheel alignment machine wasn't working and couldn't give a date that it most likely would be.

My wife went in with the intention to replace the headlight bulb for her car but when the engineer started on the job he realised that the fault was a loose wire and he fixed it for her without any charge. Thanks so much, great customer services!

Took car for inspection due to grinding brakes. Quoted 504 for full set of mid range brake pads and brake discs fitted. Obtained a quote from Mr clutch for same parts 394. Now bought parts for 140 euro car parts and pay mechanic 80 for 2 hours labour. I appreciate Halford charge a premium but feel this is just unacceptably high.

Came in for a simple 5 point check. Had my car key ring handed back to broke, with no remorse. May seem small to some though consider this it was handed to me as a gift with a hologram picture of me with my Grandmother whose passed away. They also bent my bonnet holder stopping my bonnet from closing shut properly. I know they did this as I have pictures of my car before it was handed to them,the bonnet closed fine prior no issues Atitude disgraceful, no apology nothing. Fear branded establishments like this have a way of manipulating you to believe you need something done, even on a simple free check - Try to justify it with their no interest payment plans. I'll be going to a small independent mechanics in future. For your time, energy and efforts, seriously consider another place.

This workshop carried out a MOT and an interim service. I dropped the vehicle in at 8.30 am and it was ready by lunch time. The car passed the MOT. Some advisory points were made. The interim service was done. Due to the pandemic the car had not been used much during the year. Only about 1000 miles had been covered instead of my normal of 5000 miles. Hence I expected only minimal wear and tear from last year.
