Very friendly staff! The woman who served our coffee thought that I didn't like my coffee and she offered me another one, but there wasn't a reason to do that. Everything was fine. If you visit this place, look up. The ceiling is charming and you should not miss having a quick look.

Came across Cafe Skansen by chance and got a table on a Saturday night without a reservation. Can't fault it. Fantastic food. Excellent information on allergens. Served one of the best gluten-free bread that I have ever had. Seafood soup was delicious, as was the salmon main. Waiter was very helpful and attentive.

Good location to try Norwegian cuisine! The staff was very friendly and food was tasty. Large portions, especially my favorite cream fish soup.

This is a wonderful place: peaceful, quiet, homely atmosphere, super friendly staff, and great food! The tartar starter is wonderful, as are the sole and the fish soup. The portions are a very good size, esp the main courses. Don't miss out on this one!

Wanted to try Norwegian food, Norwegian quisine and Norwegian tastes. Café Skansken was very, very lovely place. We felt cosy and warm in here. Food was so tasty as well as beautifully served. We tried fish and soup of the day as offered by very kind waitress. I am very impressed of this restaurant. Dont want to say anything about prices, cause we are tourists, so nothing is expensive. Really nice and calm place in capital city of Norway. I recommend to try Café Skansen if you didn't try before.

Beautiful and good atmosphere, went to try authentic Norwegian food and we were not disappointed. Pretty good food The menu can be better improved to help tourist to know more before we place our order (eg, indicate which items are smoked, or raw etc) so we will make a more informed judgement. Or better still, have a picture menu
