Born out of the World Economic Forum, the Global Shapers Community is a network of inspiring young people under the age of 30 working together to address local, regional and global challenges. With more than 9,700 members, the Global Shapers Community spans 434 city-based hubs in 156 countries. Global Shapers Oslo (GSO) is part of the Global Shapers Community of the World Economic Forum, and is Norway's only hub. GSO was established by HRH Crown Princess Mette-Marit in 2012 and today consists of 14 young executives and 7 alumni with diverse backgrounds in entrepreneurship, management, law, medicine, IT, etc. It is a goal for GSO to be a diverse group so that members can contribute different perspectives, experiences and knowledge. The purpose of GSO is to work on projects initiated by the hub which create positive impact in the local community, as well as contribute to the members' own projects.
