The WORST audio store my husband and I have ever experienced. RUDE owner, CROOKED business & CHEATING service are all the words we can give to this store. Actually, it doesn't deserve any star at all here. I just want to say straight at the face of that store owner, "Get lost!". STAY AWAY FROM IT if you don't want to get ripped off for rubbish things it sells.

Very pleased with the service I receive. Michael and Garry are always pleasant and go out of there way to make the customer happy. They will always have my business.
Terrible experience. Bought an item, never set it up but saw a better more expensive one there later. He agreed to take back the original and I pay the difference on the new one. He wanted me to pay for the second item and then bring back the original for a refund. When I came back that's when the talk started: they don't give refunds; my receipt was a week out of date; I can have a credit note instead; they were closing, come back on Monday etc. etc. Nasty. I guess they took me for a trusting fool; they were right.
This place is sort of a carnival of strange used equipment. I have both purchased things from and sold things to the shop (owner Mike) and have not had any problems. In the back you'll find the wild high-end stuff and I am one of a number of audiophiles who say "when in Ottawa..." I post this review because I am a little suspicious of some of the intense negatives... These guys know what they are doing and have always dealt honestly and very pleasantly with me.
I first dealt with Mike and Gary five years ago and have been going back yearly for new pieces, trade ups and the odd repair when needed. These two guys REALLY know there stuff and are worth developing a relationship with. The shop and atmosphere are a bit out of the norm but just add to the whole experience. I recommend them whole heartedly. Peter Dolan
Have had them repair some of my gear, have purchased some of my gear there as well. A great second hand audio store with literally tons of interesting stuff. I like to go at least once a month to see what new stuff he has.
I’ll never ever go to this store (Audiomart at Bank Street) again! A WARNING if anyone is thinking of going in please explore other alternative options first. I was sold an item that was more than 300% overpriced. They charged me C 40.00 for a pair of ‘8inch Perforated Rubber Speaker Foam Edge Surround Rings Replacement’ (opened box item from their repair shop). Later, I found its normal price in other stores and online was around C12.00. I went back to explain the situation and the store owner treated me terribly and refused to hear my explanation. He didn't even bother to get my contact information to further review. This review is written for information to new customers of this store, I also learned lifelong lesson.
This just happened today at the Audio Mart; you be the judge about this place: I just visited the shop to hopefully return 4 speakers that I had previously purchased here but never used. The owner immediately lifted the covers on 2 of the speakers and obviously found what he was looking for: evidence of repairs to the diaphrams, (repairs that I had not done). He indicated that he couldn't accept them. I then took out the receipt for the speakers and showed that he had sold them to me. The management of this place is obviously 2 faced: they'll sell you damaged & repaired goods without telling you but won't accept items that they've repaired
