Lovely book store cafe. Friendly staff and safe use of covid-19 protocols. No seating at the moment, but coming soon. Best to browse first and take the Coffee to go as we did. Mini cookies were also delicious. Thanks!

Black Squirrel Books has been a lifesaver during this last year, being able to order books for curbside pick up has been easy and reliable. They have a great selection and friendly communicative staff.
A great bookstore and coffee shop with a solid selection of literature. New books arrive regularly, and the staff is helpful and welcoming. Don't forget to also check out the basement for even more books!
This is an outstandingly fantastic book store! As a regular, I discovered their magical surprise book boxes during the pandemic. What a brilliant way to give gifts and read books you might not normally have read. During a dark time, receiving a delivery and opening the boxes was so exciting! The folks who run this fabulous shop are seriously top notch. Thank you for all you do for our community.
I bought a new HS Thompson book here, and you'll find a lot of Beatnik stuff here (there was a great new Ginsberg in the window at the time, too). It was during lockdown, so I didn't get a chance to try their coffee but I bet it's served hipster barista style with a nuanced explanation of how you can really taste the flavour from the sweat of the brow of the person who picked the beans.
My FAVE used bookstore in Ottawa. There is such a wide range of titles to choose from and I walk in knowing I will come out with at least one book (I would probably come out with at least 10 every time but... will power!), the staff is great too and super helpful when it comes to finding a specific book you are looking for.
