My husband and I went to Ceylonta right after the lockdown ended in Ottawa and it was honestly the best decision that we made! Loved the food. The Thaali was amazing, esp the beetroot, eggplant and green beans! The parathas were delicious and the Kotthu Rotti had a memorable flavor to it. Ranjan was super hospitable and friendly, we will come back for sure :) 10/10 would recommend to everyone.

Stop looking, eat here!! Best Sri Lankan in Ottawa. They feel like family when you visit, and even during the pandemic the food is excellent!

Review from the summer: We ate here last night and it was pure bliss! We have eaten Indian food at least 150 times but we've never had Sri Lankan food before. On the advice of our server we ordered the devilled potatoes, roast beef and the kothu roti. The potatoes and beef were absolutely amazing! Sweet and spicy, they were a match made in heaven for the palate! The roti was above des. But what made this restaurant was its service! The server was very attentive and even brought us some complimentary items while we were waiting (4 thali-type items and some coconut rice)...very unnecessary but appreciated! He continued to check in on us over the evening and also served us a complimentary tea after our meal! He gave us some great travel advice and a brief history lesson on Sri Lanka and the cook even joined us for about 10 minutes to chat about our meal and his native homeland. All in all, we felt very welcomed and absolutely loved our meal! My son and I had our leftovers this morning for breakfast :)

It’s my first time eating here, the owner was so nice and hooked us up big time!! Everything is so delicious!! Especially the devils chicken! I’m sweating happily eating !! I’m not sure what half the food is I’m eating but everything is amazing! This restaurant is a must!
