UPDATE: whoever they have answering the phone is extremely and overly rude. Maybe try hiring someone with some actual customer service skills. It's funny, she knew right off the bat what my address was and said my cart should be out today, although I was told 5 days ago that it would be yesterday. Terrible service over all. I honestly don't see how they have so ANY customers at this rate. I wish them the best of luck. Both times I have paid for service through them, my cart was NOT delivered on the date that they told me it would be there. (The first time it was almost a week late.) I emailed them after speaking with someone in the office about getting some larger items removed, I even sent photos so they could give me an estimate on how much it would cost to remove those things from my backyard and NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK. ????? They also charged me- WEEKS later (after my service had been interrupted due to lack of income)- an extra 25 on top of the quarterly amount because they had to remove the cart. And yet it was STILL not delivered yesterday, like they said it would be. The least they could do is give me a call to let me know it would be a later date??? I'm about to be charged a fine from the city because they couldn't give me a phone call and I was unable to make any other arrangements in time. It's simple- if I pay you to do your job, it should at least be done in the time frame that was given to me. I do NOT recommend, they must be understaffed, or else they simply don't care about their customers whatsoever. They definitely lack any sort of professionalism, go elsewhere and don't waste your time or money.

We have had service from Ottawa Sanitation since 2012. They have always been on schedule and taken bundled twigs and anything within their guidelines without a problem. I have always been greeted and treated well when making a payment at the office. In the few times I have called for information I have had my questions answered in a courteous and friendly manner. I recommend them if you need a trash removal service. The online payment works but charges a convenience fee.
After over 16 years, which I must say was good until the last couple of months, I’ve requested them to come pick up their dumpster and discontinue service. The rate went up, and the service went down. I’ve went with another local company, who is almost 20 cheaper, and I’ve heard very good things about them, so here’s hoping!! I don’t know what is going on at Ottawa sanitation, but after the last 2 months, it’s very apparent they don’t either! One of the times I called about an issue we were continually having, which was our trash not getting picked up, I was transferred to the owners voicemail, I left a message and included my number, never heard from him. You would think someone who had been with them for so long, would get better service, rather than a different excuse every time you call...........
We've used Ottawa Sanitation for our trash service for nearly 20 years and have had nothing but good experiences. On-time, dependable pick-up and great customer service from Brenda in the office. Highly recommend.
