Definitely a must see, especially if you’re on the Otago Rail Trail. Old mine shafts, mud brick building and the old lift, all still there. Check it out either way.

Lovely walk to the old mine including old schist cottage, and various old mining operations.

It's free, informative, picturesque stone cottage and mining structures together with stunning views and a good uphill walk for exercise. Best to wear good walking footwear. What's not to love.

A very interesting look into the gold mining past of NZ. Close to the main road and a great place to stretch your legs.
