Dr. Bender is normally a very gentle and compassionate ER doctor. But I have Chronic Pancreatitis, which caused me to vomit one day...and so I reported to the nearest ER which is what my GI has instructed me to do. But Dr. Bender did not believe I looked sick, and told me as such. He stated he was not going to give me a prescription for opiates, but I told him I was not asking him to. He then asked why I was there, and I told him it was because I was hoping he could help me with something to help me feel better, and I also told him that my GI had instructed me to report to the nearest ER if I started throwing up. He ordered the nurse to give me a shot of nausea medication, then walked out of the room declaring in a dismissive tone \Discharged\. I used to appreciate the McCullough Hyde ER until that day. After I left, my mom drove me 22 miles to Mercy Hospital Fairfield, where they proceeded to declare I still had C.Diff (which I was in the process of fighting), and a UTI, and the Mercy ER doctor admitted me into the hospital for several days. If only Dr. Bender hadn't been so haughty in his attitude, I would have greater things to say about McCullough Hyde Hospital. But now I'm afraid to go there because of the possibility of encountering Dr. Bender again, not to mention I feel like I would be bothering them with my medical problems.
