Attending a funeral of a colleaque at the well known Strooidak church in Paarl - Although it was a sad occasion, the beautiful interior and quietness of the church soothed the soul.

This Dutch Reformed church is a historic building,and vey beautifull. The services are in Afrikaans. It has a lively and friendly sermon with live music.

The third oldest church in South Africa (after Groote Kerk in Cape Town) and Stellenbosch Moedergemeente. The Strooidakkerk ("Thatched Roof Church) was founded in 1691 and the present church building was inaugurated in 1805. Historic building with contemporary service model. Tourists are invited to visit the church. Sunday service starts at 09:00 - all welcome.
