Holy place dedicated to Lord Shiva with its uniquely sculpted sedimentary rocks which once used to be under water. The generation of the deity among these rocks is something unnatural and rare. While on the way we'll get a temple of Shri Rama. The depth to where the holy structures are located is quite mysterious as we really have to follow the path of small water body which flows near it. Best part is that the water drips shapes rocks and make a way through.
Holy place with so much history & beautiful surroundings....No entry fee however we took a guide and it was totally worth it ... It was really neat and clean and well maintained place... Definitely one time visit. It's one of the top 5 spots in Pachmari.
Mesmerizing. I would recommend you hire a guide, he will charge 150 rs but it's fun. (He will make u imagine a lot) Anyways, temple is beautiful, you need to go deep down the stairs to see the actual shivling. All n all 10 on 10 experience
Religious place of great importance. It's at walking distance from Pachmarhi town. Story says that it was the place where lord Shiva, hid himself, while saving himself from Bhasmasura demon. It's located in cave of sand stone made due to water stream activity. It's a natural cave and very beautiful. Must visit place.
Best place of Pachmarhi. The most interesting place and informative place. People get to see many interesting things here. Guide is also available there which tell all the information about this place. I would suggest you should take a guide to know all the details of that place
Jatashankar (also Jata Shankar) is a natural cave and Hindu shrine located north of Pachmarhi, in Hoshangabad district, Madhya Pradesh, India. Jatashankar is located in a deep ravine with enormous boulders perched above. The cave contains stalagmites which are revered as naturally formed lingams. The cave serves as a shrine to the God Shiva and is a popular destination for pilgrims. Jata means hair and Shankar is another name of Lord Shiva. There are two ponds fed by springs found in the locality, one of cold water and the other one of hot water.
Loved the experience! The distance would be around 1.5 km from the parking to the temple but the walk is amazing, you walk on the wide concrete path not that crowded to the breathtaking view of rocks on both sides eventually taking the stairs into the deep located hidden temple. Absolutely, worth your time even if you are not a theist. The rocks have stones sedimented which looks beautiful and interesting too. There is an ambiance to the place. Definitely visit.
