In February, 2020 my local MD increased my statin dosage to keep my cholesterol in range. At the same time, she also also changed the brand of statin. Looking back, it was March, 2020 when I starting having muscle pain down my arms and legs, loss of memory, low libido, sudden onset hyperthyroid, and elevated liver enzymes. I was feeling so unwell, I saw Professor Francesca Ferrari, the licensed acupuncturist. She took time and asked me many questions and reviewed all my blood tests. After research, she figured out it was the exact timing of my change in statins that all my problems began. My thyroid and liver blood tests were perfectly normal in February, 2020. She referred me to another Medical Doctor that she works with and reported the change in statin medication. This new MD had me immediately stop the new statin because it works 8 times stronger than the one I was taking. Essentially I was overdosed! We would not have figured this overdose problem without Francesca Ferrari. She knows how to read blood tests and asked the right questions, and took time to identify the problem. A.
