Service great staff all really friendly and helpful with us. Bloke convinced us to try out first oysters raw and deep fried. Then scallops, tempura cod, crab keema and prawn on the Lawn were absolutely delicious, the sides were excellent too, very expensive but oh well experiences are worth tenfold what money is at the end of the day.

Went with my wife and 7 month old boy. Didn’t inform the restaurant at the time of booking. The staff were friendly and accommodating and moved our original table so that a high chair could be placed next to our table (this is a small/cramped restaurant!). The menu varies daily, but that adds to the charm of the restaurant and excitement. Rest assured it’s all wonderful! We had the soda bread with seaweed butter (lovely), the fried oysters, Seared tuna, scallops in delicious Thai basil sauce, Szechuan prawns (yum), spicy potatoes, John Dory whole fish (perfectly cooked), and caramel pot with ice cream. It was all just perfect. Staff were friendly, enthusiastic, considerate, happy to have kids, and helpful. If you want a bit of food heaven you won’t be disappointed coming here.

Worth the wait! Delicious, creative, fresh! Local ingredients with a Mediterranean/Asian twist.

Deducted two stars as we got food poisoning and were ignored for 25 minutes after we were seated. We literally watched three other groups come in after us, get seated, take drink and food orders before ours. I would have given one star but the food was really delicious and the atmosphere pleasent (apart from the smoke from the kitchen).

Food was good but portion was extremely small for the price. They are supposed to be sharing small plates but if you only get one scallop (12 pound!) or one razor clam - you can't really share even between the two of us. The marque was poorly ventilated and extremely smokey - we smelled for days! Service was ok to start with but we had to ask for the dessert menu 3 times and decided not to bother at the end. I was really looking forward to it as it has really good reviews and was left terribly disappointed.

Excellent seafood with great service from friendly staff. Make sure to make a booking as it gets popular. Highly recommended when in Padstow rather than one of Rick Steins venues
