Visited while on holiday in the area. We had cod and chips, fish goujons, scampi and chips and salt and pepper prawns for takeout. We thought it was all really tasty, some of the best we've had, and while it's somewhat pricey, that's to be expected. Consider it a treat and treat yourself.

I wonder if some of the other reviewers went to right place. We had cod bites and chips - easier to eat when taking away. Quite possibly the best fish and chips we've had. Very tasty. Hot. Decent portions. Price reasonable in my opinion. Gluten free available as well - happy daughter! Would definitely go here again for sure.
It's Rick Steins place so a lot is spent on the name. Had small fish and chips which was 9 roughly. The fish was tiny and the chips not huge either. Where I'm from 9 buys half a whale and two sacks of spuds, I'd say the small fish is the size of a large fish finger dipped in batter. It was tasty though so can't moan too much. Took around 40 minutes from starting to queue to actually eating (take away) so not exactly quick. Ah well I've tried them, still love ya Rick but just keep enjoying watching you on the TV.
Probably the best fish and chips I've ever had. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for. Beware the queues though, they can be looooooog.
Absolutely loved our visit to Rick steins restaurant in Padstow. The service was impeccable, the staff are so friendly and totally unpretentious. We had the oysters, mussels, Dover sole and cheesecake and all were the best things we'd eaten on our Cornish holiday! Definitely worth a day trip to padstow just for this, but must book in advance!
