My father died a week and a half ago. He was buried a week ago. As I am trying to manage my grief, I get an unsolicited advertisement in the mail from this company trying to see me a headstone. I called the company and Stacey told me this was sent off a computer generated list. A computer did not generate this - the solicitation came in a hand addressed envelope. While name hometown were in the obituary, someone from J.W Reynolds had to look up my address and address the envelope. With all the forms of advertising they can use - TV, magazine sales, pamphlets at the funeral home or cemetery - there is no reason to send pamphlets in the mail to grieving families. All these decisions were made before the funeral. When I complained, all I got in response was a fake \I am sorry for your loss\ and a non-apology, \I am sorry if you took offense\ as if my reaction was the problem, and not their insensitive advertising. I would recommend never doing business with these heartless people. Please read the response below. It has no connection to what happened. They have never been in my home , they continue to fail to acknowledge the wrongfulness of the unwanted solicitation, and do they really think any further telephone conversation would make things right?
