I called and left a voicemail on Katie's (?) phone and she got back about cemetery hours. Amazing response time. Its a pretty cemetery, well kept and a place to give dignity to those in their final resting place

Mount Kenton Cemetery is a professionally owned and operated cemetery with a 100 year old history. It is also the final resting place to some very important and significant people in U. S. and Local History. Former Vice President of the United States for The Truman Administration Alben W. Barkley is buried their (the local airport is named in his honor), aka 'Veep'. And Paducah Community College Men's Basketball Coach Claude 'Sonny' Hawes (College Gym is named in his honor) is also buried their. He was the winningest basketball coach the community college ever had. In 20 years of coaching he amassed 8,000 wins and only 240 losses. He took the team to several community college championship games and won many trophies and titles their. Veep Barkley was responsible for ushering in the Atomic Energy Age for Western Kentucky, the TVA, National Parks, Public Works, Etc. He served in both the U. S. House of Representatives and in the U. S. Senate as a Majority Leader and Statesman for many, many years. His last words were these, \I'd rather be a Servant in the House of the Lord than to set in the seats of the Mighty....\ A great cemetery to visit. Lots and lots of important history!
Mt. Kenton is a beautiful and historical cemetery. Very friendly and thoughtful staff to assist in times of sorrow. Prices are very reasonable.
Well taken care of.
