We turned up unannounced but were given a table right away. Ordered the set menu for 2, and were not disappointed. Crispy duck and Pancakes for starters then fried rice, beef and green pepper in black bean sauce, pork with ginger and spring onions as well as sweet and sour chicken. Reasonably priced and very tasty. It's been a long time since we ate Chinese food out. Definitely worth the effort. Staff were helpful accommodating, and courteous.l recommend this restaurant.

We came across the Dragon Pearl last night when looking for another restaurant, and our party of 5 was glad we did! Very friendly, quick & efficient service was noticed straightaway, and without having read any of the reviews, we enjoyed each of the dishes in our meal. One thing to note for anyone coming here is that this is Chinese food made in a British style so if you’ve eaten in the Far East it may not resemble what you know there but it’s made for the local audience. I don’t understand the negative reviews and although I didn’t give it 5 stars that’s only because it’s not outstanding however I’d happily recommend it. Good COVID-19 measures in place (toilets could do with updating but were clean).
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Food was fresh, well cooked and very tasty. Staff were attentive and friendly.
The restaurant was empty when we arrived and the proprietor genuinely looked like she preferred it that way. Service without smile, dated decor without ambience, and all dishes greasy and underwhelming. A bathroom without a door and flat Coca Cola were other interesting features.
